"We have been exchanging ideas ever since the first film regarding how he wants to advance the narrative. It's exhilarating because I will portray two roles – the antagonist and the protagonist. So, it’s an incredibly thrilling project, with a remarkably original director, and I am very eager to be part of it," Ranbir expressed about Animal Park.
About Animal
In addition to Ranbir, Animal included performances by Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, and Rashmika Mandanna. The film was produced by T-Series Films, Bhadrakali Pictures, and Cine1 Studios.
Animal garnered mixed critiques from reviewers following its release. It faced backlash for its portrayal of misogyny, toxic masculinity, thematic elements, and graphic violence. The storyline centers around Ranvijay, the merciless son of a dominant industrialist, and his complicated relationship with his father.
Recently, during the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), an individual commented on how Animal conveys that violence can lead to achieving one's goals. He also noted that the publication of such films should not be overly promoted.
What Ranbir commented regarding violence in Animal
In response to this, Ranbir stated, “I completely concur with your view. As an actor, it's our duty to present films that contribute positively to society. Nonetheless, I am an actor, and it is crucial for me to explore a variety of genres and characters, taking on diverse roles. But what you are saying is entirely valid. We need to be more accountable for the type of films we produce."
