Actor Mukesh Khanna of Shaktimaan has expressed his thoughts on Ranbir Kapoor's selection for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana.
Because of his recent remarks against Sonakshi Sinha's upbringing, Mukesh Khanna has been making headlines all week. In a previous episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, the Shaktimaan actress accused her father, Shatrughan Sinha, of being unaware of who Hanuman had brought the Sanjeevani herb for in the Ramayana. Sonakshi shared a lengthy message criticizing Mukesh, which prompted the former to "apologise." Mukesh is currently concentrating on the casting of Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari's two-part Ramayana dramatization.Mukesh recalled Arun Govil, the star of Ramanand Sagar's renowned television serial Ramayan, in an interview with Mid Day. "What Arun Govil did with the role has become the gold standard," the Shaktimaan actor was quoted as saying. All I can say is that the actor portraying Ram needs to be Ram himself; he shouldn't resemble Raavan. It will be evident on film if they are a vulgar hooligan in real life (lampat chhichhora). You are not permitted to party or consume alcohol while playing Ram. However, who am I to choose who gets to play Ram?
Mukesh also discussed the disastrous box office performance of Prabhas' portrayal of Lord Rama in Om Raut's 2023 film Adipurush. He clarified that even though Prabhas was a superstar, the part was rejected because "he doesn't look like Ram." Returning to Ranbir, whom he called the "beacon of the Kapoor family," Mukesh asserted, "He's a brilliant actor. However, if I look at his face, he ought to resemble Ram. He recently finished Animal, and the film emphasized his terrible personality. I hope this isn't disturbed by that.
Since the project's first announcement, there has been debate regarding Ranbir's casting in Ramayana: Parts 1 and 2. While some are skeptical, others are certain he will perform the task well. Rocking Star Yash and Sai Pallavi have joined RK in playing Sita and Ravana, respectively, while RK will be portrayed as Lord Rama. On Diwali 2026, Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled to hit theaters, and on Diwali 2027, Part 2 will follow. How thrilled are you?
