Player ratings for Real Madrid vs. Getafe: Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe overcome poor performances at Anfield to catch up to the waning La Liga leaders Barcelona

Carlo Ancelotti's team easily won thanks in large part to the contributions of Los Blancos' main attacking combo.

After their previous struggles, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe both scored as Real Madrid defeated a tenacious Getafe 2-0 on Sunday.

After a dismal Champions League performance in the middle of the week, the pair recovered their attacking rhythm and both scored in the first half of Madrid's ultimately easy victory, which pulled them within one point of La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Early on, Los Blancos had trouble creating, and their attacking edge was somewhat limited by Vinicius Jr.'s absence. However, a foolish defensive move gave them the lead when Antonio Rudiger was pulled down in the box prior to a Madrid corner. Bellingham rolled home the subsequent penalty after the referee indicated the spot.

After some excellent set-up play by Bellingham, Mbappe curled a fantastic attempt in off the post to score the second just before halftime.

After the break, Getafe provided some further ideas, putting Thibaut Courtois to the test a few times before John Patrick and Chrisantus Uche both rattled the post.

Nothing exactly came off, though. Madrid had the opportunity to make it three or four, but missed shots by Rodrygo and Mbappe kept the score tight. But ultimately, two was sufficient.

The Santiago Bernabeu's Real Madrid players are rated by GOAL.

Defense & Goalkeeper

Courtois Thibaut (7/10):

made some excellent stops to keep the visitors at bay in the second half.

Vazquez Lucas (6/10):

moved forward a lot and provided a useful additional body for the attack. Played a strong defense in the last minutes as well.

Asencio Raul (8/10):

reassured in the rear, with a few kind gestures. Otherwise, everything was kept neat. He blends in perfectly.

Rudiger, Antonio (7/10):

gained the lead for Madrid after winning the penalty. good overall, but turned easily to give Getafe their best chance.

Fran Garcia (6/10):

He didn't take much of the Getafe attack. hardly participated until a few spots became available for him to move forward in the end.

8/10 for Raul Asencio:

At the rear, with a few good interventions, I felt reassured. Otherwise, it was kept neat. He is totally at home.

7./10 for Antonio Rudiger:

landed the penalty kick that put Madrid ahead. Otherwise sound, but turned easily to give Getafe their best chance.

Francisco Garcia (6/10):

The Getafe onslaught did not hit him very hard. Almost never involved until a few spots became available for him to move forward.

The midfield

(7/10) Dani Ceballos:

hardly missed a pass and made good progress with the ball. It was his greatest game in a long time.

Valverde Federico (7/10):

In a type of water-carrying role. All he had to do was hold things down and move ahead in short bursts.

Bellingham, Jude (8/10):

All over the place. fought valiantly, won the ball back, scored one goal, and created another. replaced at halftime after a confrontation with the 'keeper that reportedly left him feeling lightheaded.

Brahim Diaz (6/10):

had more room in the second half but hardly touched the ball in the first. Is it possible for him to play with Rodrygo?

Attack

Rodrygo (6/10):

He tried to be involved by moving around a little, but nothing really clicked with him. Sometimes hesitant.

Mbappe Kylian (7/10):

Before curling in an amazing goal, I did a lot of nothing. He should have finished with three, but he was better in the second half. currently has eight La Liga goals this season.

Manager & Subs

Arda Guler (6/10):

Maybe a little surprised that he didn't initiate. didn't make much of an impression.

Luka Modric (7/10):

brought in to oversee the final half hour, which he accomplished admirably.

Ancelotti, Carlo (7/10):

Considering the long list of injuries, this was perhaps his strongest side. His team maintained control, scored a few well-executed goals, and pursued the leads. Better, but not flawless.
