In the first significant clash in recent years, seven Maoists died the Mulugu district of Telangana.

According to the police, the Maoists were asked to surrender after being spotted in the Chalpaka forest by the elite anti-Maoist Greyhounds forces.

A week after two tribal men were killed in Telangana's Mulugu district on suspicion of being police informers, security forces killed seven Maoists in an encounter Sunday morning.

According to IANS, the altercation started at around 5:30 in the morning. When the Maoists were discovered in the Chalpaka forest, the elite anti-Maoist Greyhounds forces gave them the order to surrender.

According to the police, the maoists refused to surrender and instead opened fire on the squad, forcing them to retaliate.

The incident resulted in the deaths of seven militants, the most notable of which was Bhadru, also known as Kursam Mangu, also known as Papanna. The 35-year-old was a member of the CPI's Telangana State Committee and the commander of the CPI's Yellandu-Narsampet area committee.

The identities of the six other Maoists slain in the conflict were as follows: Egolapu Mallaiah, 43; Mussaki Deval, 22; Mussaki Jamuna, 23; Jai Singh, 25; Kishore, 22; and Kamesh, 23. The police claimed that Bhadru was in charge of them all.

Along with additional weapons and explosives, the security forces have discovered AK-47, G3, and INSAS rifles in the Maoists' possession. The cops have taken possession of the aforementioned weapons.

The first significant meeting in recent years

As the Maoists try to regroup in the Mulugu district and resurrect their activities, Sunday's meeting is the first significant one in the region in a few years. On November 21, the Maoists in Mulugu reportedly executed two tribal males who were suspected of being police informers.

The names of the two persons slain were Uika Arjun and Uika Ramesh. Ramesh was employed with Peruru Gram Panchayat as its secretary. The two were trying to gather information and give it to the state authorities, according to a message discovered alongside their bodies.

It is yet unknown if the two murderers were among the seven Maoists slain in the battle.
