'Don't want to make someone famous by taking names,' Sameer Wankhede says in response to a query about Shah Rukh Khan in a new podcast.

On October 3, 2021, Sameer Wankhede arrested Aryan Khan, the son of Shah Rukh Khan, one day after the contentious raid on the Mumbai Cordelia cruise.

Former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede was a member of the search squad in 2021 that apprehended Aryan Khan, the son of actor Shah Rukh Khan. Sameer Wankhede declined to address the matter in a recent interview on the most recent episode of The Gaurav Thakur Show. He stated that he has no interest in answering "third-rate" comments that might have been directed at him in Shah Rukh's Jawan movie.

Sameer Wankhede's remarks on SRK
When asked about Aryan Khan's arrest and how the line "Bete ko haath lagane se pehle baap se baat kar" (Before touching my son, talk to the father) was an oblique reference to him in Shah Rukh Khan's 2023 film Jawan, Sameer responded, "Dekhiye mein kisi ka naam leke kisi ko famous nahi karna chahta hoon." Jo conversations leak vagairah hein woh honorable High Court ke saame hain: "I don't want to take names and make anyone famous." I am unable to comment because the matter is before the High Court, regardless of how the conversation leaks occurred.

"Roadside conversations"
"Aur ye joh dialogue hain jo apne kaha hain," he continued. Yeh jo terms hain, since the primary films are dekhta nahi hoon and jyada nahi dekhta movies. "Baap" and "beta" are such cheap, third-rate words that are difficult to understand. Sanskriti main aise words istemaal nahi karte humare bharatiye. Toh je road-side dialogues hain, and I don't think I'll be at that level. In addition, I think that phrases like "baap" and "beta" seem rather cheesy and inferior in the dialogue you cited. These are words that are not used in Indian culture. It is not reasonable to expect me to reply to them at that level.

In 2023, Sameer Wankhede was one of five people charged with corruption by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in relation to the October 2021 narcotics bust case on the Cordelia cruise, which resulted in the arrest of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan. The guys were charged with plotting to extort ₹25 crore from the family of one of the individuals involved in the narcotics case in exchange for not charging him, and then receiving a bribe of ₹50 lakh in return. Because certain NCB officials had a grudge against him, he dropped the charges against him.

Shah Rukh, meanwhile, last appeared in the movie Dunki. Next year, Aryan Khan will make his directorial debut. Aryan Khan's first series on Netflix will follow a "ambitious outsider navigating the glitzy yet tricky world of Bollywood," according to the announcement.
