Delhi air pollution: IMD issues a yellow alert, trains are delayed, and the AQI is still "very poor."

Additionally, the Delhi airport has issued a fog alert advice to all travelers. It said that although there had been no effect on flights, the airport's low visibility protocols were still in effect.

According to the IMD, the minimum temperature could reach 11°C by Friday before dropping once more starting the next week.
Despite a downward trend, Delhi's air pollution levels remained in the "very poor" category on Thursday.

At 8 am, the 24-hour average Air Quality Index (AQI) was reported to be 341. However, because of the favorable weather, it is anticipated to get much better. A decrease in pollution levels had led the Center's panel on Delhi-NCR air quality to revoke Stage IV limitations under the Graded Response Action Plan.

A restriction on all building operations, the entry of non-essential polluting vehicles into Delhi, and the need that school lessons—aside from classes 10 and 12—be switched to hybrid modes were all part of the Graded Response Action Plan's (GRAP) Stage IV limits.

Vivek Vihar (372), Okhla Phase 2 (369), Rohini (377), ITO (340), Ashok Vihar (362), Wazirpur (366), Shadipur (319), Jahangirpuri (375), Narela (325), DTU (297), R.K. Puram (391), Anand Vihar (370), Pusa (358), and Punjabi Bagh (363), according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), had the following AQI levels as of 6 a.m. on Thursday.

All travelers received a fog alert notification from the Delhi airport earlier today. It said that although there had been no effect on flights, the airport's low visibility protocols were still in effect.

Delays in trains

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted severe fog and a minimum temperature of 7°C, which caused a layer of fog to cover sections of Delhi. Due to heavy fog, 18 trains from around the nation are arriving in Delhi late, according to ANI.

IMD predicts what?

Due to a new western disturbance, the IMD issued a yellow signal for four days, until Sunday, warning of heavy fog and thunderstorms. According to the IMD, the minimum temperature could reach 11°C by Friday before dropping once more starting the next week. A maximum temperature of 21°C was predicted.

For the next three days, a moderate fog is expected to form in the morning, an IMD official informed Hindustan Times. Sunday is expected to have a lot of fog. Visibility is classified by IMD as "shallow fog" when it is between 500 and 1,000 meters, "moderate fog" when it is between 200 and 500 meters, "dense fog" when it is between 50 and 100 meters, and "very dense" fog when it is below the 50-meter threshold.
