Bengaluru: No closure orders have been issued for Bengaluru's colleges and schools for today. Yesterday, Cyclone Fengal caused significant rainfall in several areas of the city, raising worries about the closure of universities and schools. However, there has been no announcement from the government that today is a school holiday. However, because of disruptions in the Bay of Bengal region, the weather service has issued a yellow notice for the city and is forecasting severe rainfall in some areas of the region. Before, during, and after the cyclone's landfall, Tamil Nadu was most affected. The weather service has issued an alert for Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka, thus it appears the effect will last for a few more days.
A yellow signal has been issued for the entire city of Bengaluru, with heavy rain and gloomy skies expected on Monday, December 2. On the other hand, an orange alert is in effect for nearby districts, including Mandhya, Mysuru, Hassan, Kodagu, and Shimoga. Recently, schools and institutions in Chennai and the surrounding areas were closed; Bengaluru may experience the same fate. But the Karnataka government hasn't said anything like that yet.

Notably, the state administration ordered the closure of physical education in schools and colleges a few weeks ago when rain caused chaos in Bengaluru.
The IMD predicts that the weather in Bengaluru will improve starting on Tuesday, with light rain forecast in various locations. There is no forecast for rain this week, although the sky will be partly cloudy starting on Wednesday.
