Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy met with representatives of the Telugu film industry on Thursday to talk about how they can help one another in the future.
Recently appointed as the chairman of Telangana's Film Development Corporation (FDC), producer Dil Raju was present at a meeting between Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and representatives of the Telugu film industry. The producer simply made a passing reference to the Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 stampede issue when explaining to the media what was addressed at the meeting. What was said by Revanth Reddy?
Raju informed the media that the chief minister wants to make sure Hyderabad became a global center as well, as the Telugu film industry had grown to be a formidable force in the nation.
"The Telugu film industry has been expanding and gaining the nation's respect," he stated. The CM hopes that the film industry will expand rapidly and contribute to its status as a global center. Many language shows and movies are frequently filmed here, and the chief minister hopes that soon, even foreign material will be filmed in Hyderabad. In a few days, he will receive a proposal for that from the FDC.
Raju went on to say that the CM requested the film industry's assistance in raising public awareness of concerns like drug use, women's safety, and other matters. "There are rumors that there is a gap between the government and the film industry, but that is untrue," he remarked, referring to recent unexpected situations. We also discussed being cordial going forward with the police.
Does Telangana have no more benefit shows?
According to a number of sources, CM Revanth spoke on the Pushpa 2 stampede issue and urged the film industry to hold public events with greater accountability. Additionally, according to reports, the CM reaffirmed that special events, benefit shows, and ticket increases for movies that were distributed in the state would not be permitted.
Raju firmly responded, "That is such a small issue; it is not important," when the media questioned him about it. The topic of discussion today was how to turn Hyderabad into a global center for film. Every year, 200 films are released here. It doesn't matter if you inquire about Sankranthi films, benefit events, or ticket increases. We may talk about that later; only time will tell. We now face a more difficult task. In addition, Raju has a movie called Game Changer, starring Kiara Advani and Ram Charan, which is being released on Sankranthi.
The conference between the state government and the Telugu cinema industry was attended by a number of well-known actors, including Dil Raju, Allu Aravind, Harish Shankar, Prasanth Varma, Vamshi Paidipally, Anil Ravipudi, Koratala Siva, Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, and others.
The Pushpa 2 stampede case of Allu Arjun
In the stampede case, Arjun was taken into custody by the Telangana police on December 13 and freed on temporary bail after the High Court granted it on December 14. A mother was killed and her small boy was hospitalized during a stampede-like incident at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the presentation of his most recent movie, Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Since then, the police have asserted that Arjun went to the theater without authorization. In the assembly, CM Revanth asserted that Arjun would not leave the theater even after being told of the fan's passing. The actor refuted these allegations.
