A 'not fit' decision from the BCCI means that Mohammed Shami will not be going to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

A 'not fit' decision from the BCCI means that Mohammed Shami will not be going to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The BCCI has declared Mohammed Shami 'healthy', thus he will not be going to Australia for the final two Test matches against Australia.

Mohammed Shami, a speedster for India, will not be going to Australia for the final two Test matches against Australia since the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has declared him unfit. With the hope that he would eventually be healthy enough to play in the Australia Tests, Shami had been a big topic of conversation before and during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. When questioned about Shami's condition for the third time in a month following the conclusion of the drawn Gabba Test match against Australia, India captain Rohit Sharma stated that it was imperative that the National Cricket Academy (NCA) provided an update on India quick.

After representing Bengal in a Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh, Shami made a comeback to competitive cricket. Later on, he also participated in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy competition. Cricket commentators and fans, however, were taken aback when Shami was not invited to visit Australia. On Monday night, the BCCI finally provided an update on Shami's fitness, outlining the whole series of events.

Due to increased joint loading from his bowling effort, he has had some edema in his left knee. Because of the increased bowling after a long time, the swelling is on the expected lines," the BCCI stated in an official statement.

"The BCCI Medical Team has concluded that his knee needs more time for controlled exposure to bowling loads based on the results of the most recent medical evaluation. As a result, he has not been considered for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy's final two Test matches," the statement continued.

Shami's knee needs more time to recuperate.
Shami's knee will take some more time to heal, according to the Indian Cricket Board, and his continued involvement for Bengal in the Vijay Hazare Trophy would depend on how well he recovers.

"The BCCI Medical Team has concluded that his knee needs more time for controlled exposure to bowling loads based on the results of the most recent medical evaluation. As a result, the BCCI declared that he was not eligible to play in the final two Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Under the supervision of the medical team at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence, Shimi will continue to engage in focused strength and conditioning exercises to develop the bowling loads required to withstand the rigors of the game's longest format. The board also stated that his knee's recovery would determine if he could compete in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Rohit Sharma had informed reporters that while he is aware that Shami is participating in domestic games, his recuperation is still unknown. He mentioned that Shami's knee was swollen.

The 2023 ODI World Cup final between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad was Shami's final international match.
