Two individuals who rescued wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant's life in a terrible vehicle accident have been given scooters.

After India's wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was engaged in a horrifying vehicle accident in December 2022, the entire cricketing community was left in shock. Pant suffered two cuts on his forehead and a torn ligament in his right knee in the near-fatal accident at Roorkee, Uttarakhand. Pant also missed more than a year of competitive cricket as a result of the incident. The situation with Rishabh Pant might have been more concerning if it weren't for Rajat Kumar and Nishu Kumar.

Journalist Bharat Sundaresan spoke with Rajat and Nishu, who assisted Rishabh Pant in surviving the event, in a video that 7Cricket posted. Until that early December morning two years ago, the two of them had no idea who Pant was.

They were both instrumental in keeping him safe. After dragging Pant out of his car, the two men—who work at a nearby factory—took him to the local hospital. As a token of appreciation, Pant gave Nishu and Rajat motorcycles.

Devender Sharma, Pant's childhood coach, was also highlighted in the 7Cricket video. He discussed Pant's predicament at the hospital.

His muscles protruded from his body. His bone was visible from the lower waist to the back neck. The bandage took five hours to apply. In the procedure, he received anesthesia twice. Sharma remarked, "His body appeared to be a piece of wood that had been fully peeled."

Pant has since returned to competitive cricket with success, winning the MVP award for India in the game's longest format.

Leading the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 marked Rishabh Pant's comeback to competitive cricket.

Then, through the Duleep Trophy, he made a comeback in the longest format. After that, he was included in the India Test team for the home series against New Zealand and Bangladesh. He is also competing against Australia in the current Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Following the horrific car accident, Rishabh Pant's mother had resorted to Umesh Kumar, an independent Uttarakhand MLA, for assistance on the morning of his tragedy.

Ravi Shastri, the former head coach of Team India, has previously stated that if people had seen Pant's injuries back in December 2022, they would never have given him a chance.

"God sent those two boys." Rishabh's life was spared by them. His life was also saved by the choice to transport him to Dehradun  had told Indian Express.

"To be honest, you wouldn't have given him a chance to play cricket again if you had seen him. I'll always remember it. His condition was appalling. A month after his injury, I visited him in the hospital. News.com.au cited Shastri as adding, "He was bruised and battered, scarred all over."

He underwent a major procedure and was covered with stitches. It was a miracle to just get better and play cricket after that. It's a really incredible accomplishment to then play for a World Cup-winning team and make the Test squad," he continued.
