Varun Chakravarthy captivates SKY with an amazing performance in a losing cause: "Defending 125 and getting a fifer."

Stubbs (47*) and Coetzee (19*) brought the hosts home after Varun whirled his web around the Proteas batters, reducing them to 66 for 6 while chasing 125.

Despite losing by three wickets to South Africa on Sunday, Team India captain Suryakumar Yadav was pleased with his bowlers' strong comeback in the second Twenty20 International. After taking his first five wickets and bringing India back into the match, the captain saved a lot of appreciation for the spinner Varun Chakravarthy. However, the visitors lost control of the match in the final overs, thus things didn't work out well for them.

Tristan Stubbs (47*) and Gerald Coetzee (19*) took the hosts home in 19 overs after the 33-year-old whirled his web around the Proteas hitters and reduced them to 66 for 6 while chasing 125.

According to the Indian captain, Varun put a lot of effort into improving his game, and it is an amazing accomplishment for a bowler to claim a fifer in that circumstance.

It's amazing when someone defends 125 and gets a 5-fer in a Twenty20 match. Everyone appreciated it, and he had been waiting for this stage and working incredibly hard on his game. "He gave a fantastic performance," Suryakumar remarked during the post-match presentation.

In the meantime, the Indian batsmen scored 126/4 in 20 overs after finding it difficult to get going on a challenging, bouncy pitch. With crucial partnerships, Axar Patel (27), who added 30 runs with Tilak Varma (20) and 25 runs with Hardik Pandya, steadied the innings. South Africa, however, kept things under control and took wickets frequently.

"You'd rather not receive 125 or 140," said Sky.

Although Surya acknowledged that 126/4 did not appear to be a par score, he was thrilled with the bowlers' performances since they offered them an opportunity to rally.

"You must constantly support the total that you arrive at. Naturally, you don't want to score 125 or 140 in a Twenty20 match, but I'm pleased with our boys' bowling performance," he remarked.

Nonetheless, Surya hopes the last Twenty20 Internationals in Centurion and Johannesburg would be a lot of fun and entertaining.

"It will be enjoyable in Johannesburg with two games left and plenty of entertainment left," he said.
