On October 12, he killed Baba Siddique with a 9.9 mm handgun and fired six shots at the former Maharashtra minister outside the Bandra East office building of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique. Baba Siddique was killed by three gunmen, all of whom have since been taken into custody.
Four people have been arrested in addition to Shiv Kumar for providing him with shelter and assisting in his escape to Nepal.
Shiv Kumar acknowledged his affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang during the course of the investigation. A day after Baba Siddique was shot dead, one of the gang members had taken credit for his death.
According to Shiv Kumar, Anmol Bishnoi, the brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, gave the order for the murder to be committed. Shiv Kumar added that Shubham Lonkar, who is thought to be a close associate of Lawrence Bishnoi, helped him get in touch with Anmol Bishnoi on several occasions.
Prior to his shooting, Anmol Bishnoi had reportedly spoken with Baba Siddique's assailants, according to the Mumbai Police. Additionally, according to the authorities, Anmol Bishnoi communicated with the accused via the social media platform Snapchat.
According to the authorities, he also sent the gunmen a picture of Zeeshan Siddique, Baba Siddique's son. Anmol Bishnoi, also referred to as "Bhanu," escaped India with a forged passport and was seen in Kenya last year and Canada this year.
He is wanted in relation to Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala's 2022 murder and the firing incident at superstar Salman Khan's home.
Anmol Bishnoi's name has been put to the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) most-wanted list, and a reward of Rs 10 lakh has been offered for any information that leads to his arrest.
