Regarding the DOGE idea, Vivek Ramaswamy said, "Elon Musk and I will take a chainsaw to bureaucracy."

In his lofty ambitions for DOGE, Vivek Ramaswamy said that he and Elon Musk, his co-leader, "are in a position to start the mass deportations of millions of unelected federal bureaucrats out of the DC bureaucracy."

Alongside Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Indian-origin entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy pledged to "take a chainsaw" to inefficiencies in Washington by transforming American bureaucracy under their newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Former Republican presidential candidate Ramaswamy described their ambitious intentions for the DOGE and praised US President-elect Donald Trump for entrusting him and Musk with this high-stakes project.

He said, "Elon Musk and I are in a position to start the mass deportations of millions of unelected federal bureaucrats out of the D.C. bureaucracy," during a Thursday event held at Trump's Mar-a-Lago home in Florida.

The biotech CEO went on, "And I don't know if you've gotten to know Elon yet, but he brings a chainsaw instead of a chisel, and we're going to be taking it to that bureaucracy." "It's going to be a lot of fun."

The chainsaw might have been a reference to Javier Milei, the president of Argentina, who gained notoriety for enacting drastic austerity measures after assuming office. Milei, an economic libertarian and self-declared "anarcho-capitalist," ran on a platform brandishing a chainsaw and promising to cut through his nation's fiscal and bureaucratic systems.

To "slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies," Trump announced the DOGE program.

Trump appointed Musk and Ramaswamy as co-leaders of the DOGE a few days after he was re-elected. DOGE, which takes its name from Musk's preferred cryptocurrency, seeks to reduce unnecessary spending and streamline administrative procedures. The department will function outside of government, despite its name.

Through weekly "Dogecasts" livestreamed on X, Musk's social media platform, Musk and Ramaswamy pledged to be open and honest with the American public about the workings of their department.

"Our goal is to shave the size of government and to be as transparent as possible with the public," said Ramaswamy. The best minds in the nation are coming together. This is comparable to a contemporary Manhattan Project.

Time is not being wasted by the rich couple. The DOGE posted a job opening on X, looking for "super high-IQ, small-government revolutionaries" who would put in more than 80 hours a week to reduce costs.

Candidates must send DOGE a direct message on X, which necessitates a premium Musk platform subscription. According to the release, "Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants."

Ramaswamy maintains that the changes are essential for cost containment and innovation, despite critics' warnings that the DOGE could undermine essential government operations.

"Last week demonstrated that we are not a nation in decline, as we have been taught," he remarked. "DOGE's responsibility is to establish a government that is both large and comprehensive enough to make our Founders proud."
