Nayanthara writes an open letter to "vile" Dhanush on the Naanum Rowdy Dhan dispute, saying, "Speaks so much about your character."

Nayanthara has criticized Dhanush

Nayanthara has criticized Dhanush in a three-page open letter for allegedly engaging in vindictive behavior that was pushed through her documentary. What's the tale?

You don't see two A-list actors publicly at odds with each other very often. Although rivalries, blind spots, rumors, and the occasional newsworthy legal notice do occur, most of the time, both or all parties involved retain the appearance of secrecy. Nayanthara, however, is more than eager to alter the standard. Dhanush is also in the path of fire.

The 'Lady Superstar' posted a three-page, extremely comprehensive open letter against Dhanush on social media earlier today. In summary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, the former's Netflix documentary, is the source of the dispute. As the open letter has now proved, the production has been in the works for a while and was also enmeshed in constant legal back and forth, for which Dhanush is responsible. This is where the 2015 Tamil release Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, the second-most significant title in this soup, appears. The Vignesh Shivan-directed, Dhanush-produced movie, which starred Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara, became an enormous hit when it came out. Here's some encouraging trivia for you: Nayanthara and Vignesh, who are now happily married and parents to their twin boys, Uyir and Ulag, fell in love on the set of this very movie. It goes without saying that Nayanthara placed a high value on the documentary's use of the movie's music, stills, and video for sentimental and narratively compelling reasons.

According to the actor, it took two years to get a no objection certificate (NOC) from Dhanush, even though some of her "film friends" voluntarily permitted similar content from other productions to be included in the documentary and even stepped in for sit-downs themselves. Nayanthara's letter continued by explaining how, after the couple finally accepted that they would not be able to include any mention of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, the movie that first brought them together, and gave their approval for the documentary's final cut without it, more chaos ensued. A week ago, the documentary's trailer featured a 3-second snippet from the sets of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan has been featured — BTS footage shot on the couple's private devices — to which Dhanush has taken immense offence, enough to send the actor's team a legal notice claiming damages worth ₹10 crores.

In her letter, Nayanthara explained that although she is aware that copyright concerns and legal notices are relatively straightforward, she believes Dhanush is losing the fight in the "court of God" due to moral grounds—or the lack of them. Even though the copyright issue will be handled legally, she took the chance to bring up some important points, such as why a producer gets to act as the "emperor" of a set, including all of the people who work on it, and the entire insider-outsider dynamic, of which Dhanush is a prime example. The letter ends with advice for the wise, stating that witnessing another person's growth or happiness does not in any way lessen one's own happiness.
