In the Netflix original series Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, Nagarjuna discussed it.

Since the release of the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale, Nayanthara's private life has been under intense public scrutiny. Legends like Nagarjuna, Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, and others make guest appearances in the drama, which is based on the personal and professional lives of the Jawan actress. Nagarjuna discussed his initial thoughts on Nayanthara, his co-star in the Telugu movie Boss (2006), on the show. Nagarjuna also discussed his "turbulent" friendship with the Dora actor in the past. "I remember we were shooting in Switzerland; I think she was going through a very turbulent time in a relationship," Nagarjuna recalled when discussing the song's filming. We would all be terrified when her phone rang. If the phone rang, this girl's mood would just come down. She would just turn off."

Additionally, Nagarjuna disclosed that he questioned her about why she decided to continue in such a relationship. "I recall asking her why she was harming herself. "You're a successful woman," the Criminal actor remarked. Nayanthara, however, remained silent on the identity of the actor she was allegedly seeing at the time.

The fascinating charisma of Nayanthara captivated Nagarjuna. "Nayan was obviously stunning when she entered the set, but there was also a sense of majesty about her. I connected with her right away because of the warmth with which she spoke and her sincere grin. On the episode, he recalled, "This is someone I would like to be friends with."

Nayanthara acknowledged that her first relationship was founded on "trust rather than love" in response to rumors over her dating history. "You simply think that the other person loves you too. It's trust more than affection. And you put your all into it. However, people make a lot of assumptions. When people made assumptions about it, it broke my heart. "No one has questioned any of the boys about what transpired until today," she added.

Reviews of Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale were positive when it first came out. However, Dhanush, the producer of the movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, served Nayanthara with a legal notice and Rs 10 crore in compensation prior to the show's premiere. Since Dhanush forbade the use of the film's footage, which was used in the show's trailer as a 3-second clip, a legal notification was given. In an open letter posted to Instagram, Nayanthara criticized Dhanush.
