After a quarrel over his marriage to another woman, a 25-year-old butcher in Jharkhand's Khunti district killed his live-in girlfriend and chopped her body into 50 pieces, leading to his arrest. After a stray dog was spotted in a wooded area with human remains on November 24, the incident—which happened roughly two weeks ago—came to light.

The victim, 24-year-old Gangi Kumari, and the accused, Naresh Bhengra, have been recognized. Although they lived and worked in Tamil Nadu, they were from Jordag village.

The authorities claim that although the two had been living together for a few years, Naresh married a different woman in Khunti without the victim's knowledge. He even went back to live with Gangi in Tamil Nadu.

On November 8, the pair returned to Khunti at Gangi's persuasion, which led to the horrific occurrence. However, a fight broke out between the two when she ordered him to accompany her to the village and urged him to return the money he owed her if he refused.

Instead, Bhengra brought her to a wooded location close to his house, where he used Gangi's dupatta to strangle her. After that, he chopped the body into about fifty pieces and disposed of the leftovers for untamed animals to eat.

According to a police official cited by news agency PTI, the victim's remains were found in the wooded area on November 24 after a dog was spotted with some body parts.

Gangi's things, including her Aadhaar card and photo, which her mother eventually identified, were also discovered in a bag that the police discovered in the forest.

A garden hoe and a sickle drenched in blood were also found among the collected objects. After being arrested, Bhengra admitted to killing the woman and slicing her body while being questioned.

The culprit was apprehended, according to a top Khunti police officer, and a case was filed against him.

This most recent occurrence brings to mind the murder case of Shraddha Walkar in Delhi in 2022, when she was murdered by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawala.

On May 18, 2022, Aaftab allegedly killed Shraddha and cut her body into 35 parts, which he stored in a 300-liter refrigerator at his home in Mehrauli, South Delhi, for over three weeks before disposing of them throughout the city over a few days.

On November 12 of that year, he was taken into custody.
