A report claims that the 2025 IPL season will run from March 14 to May 25 and the next two seasons from March 15 to May 31 and March 14 to May 30.
The lucrative Indian Premier League's 2025 season is scheduled to begin on March 14. The 18th season of the richest franchise cricket league in the world will have its final on May 25, according to a report published in ESPNCricinfo on Friday, November 22. Although the location has not yet been revealed, given that the city-based team won the 2024 IPL, it is quite likely that the summit match will be held at Kolkata's Eden Gardens. The information that is now available indicates that the 2026 season will take place from March 15 to May 31 while the 2027 season will take place from March 14 to May 30.
When the broadcast rights for the 2023–27 cycle were auctioned, the IPL mentioned 84 matches for the 2025 season, which is 10 fewer than the 74 matches for the 2025 season.
All ten IPL teams have apparently received assurances from the BCCI on the availability of their players for all three seasons, which is a huge boost.
Cricket Australia has approved all of its players, both local and international, to participate in the 2025 season, according to ESPNCricinfo. The CA disclosed that the three-match ODI series Australia will play in Pakistan in 2026 will be "concluding no later than March 18." Following the Pakistan trip, Australian players who are playing in that series and those taking a break following the T20 World Cup—which is slated to take place in India and Sri Lanka in February and March of 2026—will join the IPL. In 2027, Australian players that participated in the historic Test match between England and Australia in March to mark 150 years of Test cricket will join following the game.
A list of 18 centrally contracted players who will be available for the upcoming three IPL seasons has been presented by the ECB. Ben Stokes, the England Test captain, is one well-known figure absent from this list because he did not bid in the 2025 IPL mega auction. Jofra Archer, Gus Atkinson, Jonny Bairstow, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler, Brydon Carse, Zak Crawley, Sam Curran, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Ollie Pope, Matthew Potts, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Olly Stone, and Reece Topley are among the players who will be completely available between 2025 and 2027. A couple of these players will eventually be "out of contract," according to the ECB, but while they are under contract, they will be available to play in the IPL. England’s non-centrally contracted players will be fully available for the next three seasons."
