Indian Americans applaud Trump's presidential triumph, saying he is a strong leader.

Trump became only the second commander-in-chief in more than a century to win two nonconsecutive presidential terms after defeating Democratic opponent Kamala Harris in a historic election to become the 47th President of the United States.

New York: Indian-Americans applauded Donald Trump's win in the US presidential election, stating that the nation needs a "strong leader" like him who will fulfill his pledges to reduce illegal immigration and control inflation.

Trump became only the second commander-in-chief in more than a century to win two nonconsecutive presidential terms after defeating Democratic opponent Kamala Harris in a historic election to become the 47th President of the United States.

Grover Cleveland, who spent two nonconsecutive terms as president from 1885–1889 and 1893–1897, was the president prior to Trump.

Trump's electoral triumph also made him the first person to be elected president who had been convicted of a felony and impeached twice. However, voters' decision to support Trump and give him a second term in office was not significantly impacted by his criminal convictions, his rhetoric, or his baggage from his last term as president, which included the rioting at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Members of the Indian-American community were clearly in favor of Trump. "Trump is an effective leader. Prominent Indian-American cardiologist and community leader Dr. Avinash Gupta told PTI, "The nation needs strong leadership."

"We witnessed four years of Trump's actions, followed by four years of the Biden-Harris administration. "The distinction was evident," Gupta remarked.

Gupta emphasized that the economy was doing well, there were no new conflicts, Trump was beneficial for the US-Indian relationship, and the borders were safe during his first term in office.

In light of the conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, Gupta continued, "we need a strong leader who can put an end to all these wars and achieve global peace." Only Trump will be able to accomplish this, as we know he is not like other politicians. When Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, contacted the former US president to congratulate him on his Republican presidential nomination earlier this year, Trump made a commitment to halt Ukraine's war with Russia.

“… I promise to halt the conflict that has destroyed so many innocent lives and bring peace to the world as your next president of the United States.

Gupta stated, "I firmly believe that Trump can end the war if anyone else can."
Additionally, Trump has promised that "inflation will vanish completely" if he were to return to the White House.

Trump won the election, according to Deepa, an Indian-American small business owner in the White Plains neighborhood of New York.

Deepa, who asked that only her first name be used, explained why she supports Trump, saying that Trump had been president previously and "knows what should be done for the country." He is the ideal individual. "Everyone is free to make their own decisions. Trump is superior, in my opinion," she declared.

Deepa responded, "Her being a woman does not matter," in reference to Harris, who had the opportunity to become the nation's first female president. The Democrats never fulfill their commitments. They promise to do something, but they never do.

That is not Trump. Deepa, who resides in the Long Island region with her young family, remarked, "He follows through on his promises."

According to a businessman from New Jersey who asked not to be named, the current economic climate and high pricing are making things very tough for business owners.

"Companies are suffering. "It is no longer viable," he stated.

"I would never have allowed it to occur. Hindus across America and around the world have been disregarded by Kamala and Joe. From Israel to Ukraine to our own southern border, they have been a catastrophe, but we will rebuild America and restore peace by using our strength! Additionally, we shall defend Hindu Americans from the radical left's anti-religion campaign. We'll defend your liberty. We will also deepen our excellent relationship with India and my dear friend Prime Minister Modi under my administration," Trump had stated.

Gupta added that his patients express dissatisfaction with medicine costs, excessive inflation, and their inability to pay for life-saving prescription drugs. "They say we have to buy groceries and feed our families, so some of them have just stopped (buying medicines)." Mohan Nannapaneni, a small business owner from Massachusetts, stated that he supports Trump's policies "because his policies are very clear and are definitely helpful for small businesses."

Regarding the present economic situation, he stated that "everyone is feeling the pain" and that Trump's pledges will undoubtedly contribute to an improvement in the labor market and economy. "The issue of illegal immigrants was of significant concern to voters in the election," Nannapaneni, who is also the founder of the nonprofit organization TEAM Aid, which is run by volunteers, continued. "People are feeling very insecure because of the problem of illegal immigrants, open borders, and allowing people to enter without any screening." Harris's policies on these matters were unclear, Nannapaneni continued. "Bring back America" is a fantastic catchphrase. Everyone wants to see what America used to be like.
