Kishtwar village guards are killed during protests.

The murders of two Village Defence Guards by terrorists sparked protests in the streets of the Kishtwar district of Jammu & Kashmir.

To regain the trust of the local populace, the demonstrators called for the "immediate elimination" of the terrorists responsible for the murders.

In the district's Drabshalla area, hundreds of people gathered, blocking roads and burning tires. They chanted Bharat Mata Ki Jai and yelled anti-Pakistan and anti-terrorist slogans.

Early this morning, there were additional reports of protests in Kuntwara and other places, including a sit-in on the road and shouts supporting Pakistan Murdabad.

"It has been a while since this type of thing occurred in our area. Terrorists abducted and murdered the victims as they were grazing their livestock. This is a cowardly conduct. This is not acceptable to us. Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Drabshalla, stated, "The people are adamantly opposed to terrorism."

The demonstrators called for the terrorists to be killed right now.

"We call for a robust operation to bring the terrorists responsible for this act to justice. In order for locals to feel comfortable grazing livestock in these regions, the forces should sweep the entire hills," he continued.

In the district, residents also noticed a stoppage. In protest over Friday's killings, the Sanatan Dharam Sabha has called for a full bandh in Kishtwar.

According to the statement, the people of Kishtwar are being asked to fully support the bandh call and to keep all of their shops, businesses, and educational institutions closed.

"I am deeply saddened by the horrific killings of our VDG brothers, Nazir Ahmed and Kuldeep Kumar, in a heinous act of terrorism in the forest area of Kuntwara, Kishtwar district," stated Shugan Parihar, the MLA for Kishtwar, in response to the killings. I send these courageous martyrs' families my deepest sympathies.
