Gi-hun is back to settle scores and save lives in the Squid Game Season 2 trailer.

The new season, which is scheduled to debut on December 26, also stars Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, Gon Yoo, and Yim Si-wan. Park Gyu-young and Kang Ha-neul play crucial roles.

In the official Squid Game Season 2 teaser released by Netflix on Tuesday, South Korean actor Lee Jung-jae's character Seong Gi-hun makes a comeback to play the dystopian survival games, but this time he does it to halt the madness and save lives.

The clip, which lasts for one minute and thirty-five seconds, shows Gi-hun in a car at the time of his alleged kidnapping. Gi-hun responds, "Put me back in the game," when asked what he wants from Front Man (Hwang In-ho), the game's chief staff, who is portrayed by Lee Byung-hun.

In Tuesday's official teaser for Squid Game Season 2, South Korean actor Lee Jung-jae's character Seong Gi-hun returns to play the dystopian survival games once more, but this time to halt the madness and save lives.

The one-minute, thirty-five-second teaser shows Gi-hun in a car at the alleged time of his kidnapping. When Lee Byung-hun's character, Front Man (Hwang In-ho), the game's top staff, asks Gi-hun what he wants from him, Gi-hun responds, "Put me back in the game."

In order to win USD 4.56 million, hundreds of new competitors must play a series of kid-friendly games that are popular in Korea. Gi-hun returns to the game to save them. Those who don't do the chores, however, are slain right away.

"Number 456, welcome back to the game," Netflix remarked when sharing the trailer on X. The unstoppable mental game has resumed. On December 26, Season 2 was released.

Detective Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun), Front Man's brother from the first season, is also shown in the trailer returning to carry out his investigation. In the first season, Jun-ho almost reveals the game's horrors.

A new Squid Game Season 2 poster was also released by the creators, showing Gi-hun leading a bunch of other competitors as they flee a merry-go-round. The words "Let The New Games Begin" are displayed on the poster.

Viewers were first introduced to the deadly game in Squid Game Season 1, a K-drama in which residents were compelled to wager their lives. With a record 1.65 billion views in just 28 days following its September 17, 2021 premiere, it went on to become Netflix's most-watched series. At the 2022 Emmys, Lee Jung-jae became the first Asian man to win Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and the first to win for a show that wasn't in English. In addition, Hwang Dong-hyuk became the first Asian to win an Emmy for drama series directing.

On December 26, Squid Game Season 2 will debut on Netflix.
