On the second phase of his three-nation tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Brazil Monday. He will be attending the G20 Summit. After concluding a "productive" trip to Nigeria, where he engaged with the Indian community and had bilateral discussions with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, PM Modi arrived in the South American nation.The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) posted on X to announce PM Modi's arrival in Brazil, writing, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi lands in the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the G20 Brazil Summit." Additionally, it posted images of PM Modi's airport greeting.
In a post on his official X Twitter, PM Modi announced his arrival, writing, "Arrived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to participate in the G20 Summit. I'm excited for the summit's discussions and productive conversations with other world leaders." He will be part of the Troika during the 19th G20 Summit in Brazil. Along with South Africa and Brazil, India is a member of the G20 Troika.

At President Mohamed Irfaan Ali's request, Modi will travel to Guyana from November 19 to 21 for the third and last leg of his journey. In over 50 years, this will be the first time an Indian prime minister has visited Guyana.

Despite severe disagreements over the Ukraine situation, the 55-nation African Union was able to draft a leaders' declaration and was admitted as a permanent member of the G20.

Only the second foreign dignitary to receive the honor, PM Modi was given Nigeria's national award, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), while he was there.
