During the G20 Summit in Brazil, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks with Giorgia Meloni and praises the "India-Italy friendship."

According to PM Narendra Modi, he spoke with Giorgia Meloni about enhancing commerce, technology, security, and defense cooperation.

On the fringes of the G20 Summit in Brazil, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met bilaterally with his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni on Monday (local time) and praised their partnership.

Along with other leaders, PM Narendra Modi met with French President Emmanuel Macron and his UK counterpart Keir Starmer during the 19th G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro.

Modi claimed that the main topics of his talks with Giorgia Meloni were enhancing commerce, technology, security, and defense cooperation. "Friendship between Italy and India can significantly contribute to a better planet," he said.

"It was a pleasure to meet Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro. Our discussions focused on strengthening commerce, technological, security, and defense relations. We also talked about how to improve collaboration in fields like education and culture. Modi posted on social networking platform X that friendship between Italy and India can significantly improve the globe.

Additionally, Modi and Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store met bilaterally.

Modi has already met with Portuguese and Indonesian leaders during the G20 Leaders' Summit in Brazil. Modi placed a strong emphasis on enhancing relations with both countries in sectors like defense and trade during his talks.

According to Randhir Jaiswal, the spokesperson for the ministry of external affairs, PM Modi promised Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto that the India-Indonesia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership would be expanded.

UK Prime Minister Starmer says FTA negotiations with India will resume.
After a bilateral meeting with Narendra Modi, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer declared that trade negotiations with India would resume in the new year.

After the discussion between Starmer and Modi, Downing Street said that the UK would look to establish a new strategic relationship with India, which would include a trade pact and increased collaboration in fields including education, technology, security, and climate change.

According to a representative for Starmer, the UK is dedicated to negotiating a trade agreement with India, which has one of the world's fastest-growing economies.

Starmer said following the bilateral meeting, "A new trade deal with India will support jobs and prosperity in the UK -- and represent a step forward in our mission to deliver growth and opportunity across our country," according to a statement issued by 10, Downing Street.

Modi called the conversation "extremely productive" on social media.

"The UK-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is a top priority for India. We are excited to collaborate closely in sectors like technology, green energy, security, and innovation in the upcoming years," Modi stated in a post on X.

"We also want to add strength to trade as well as cultural linkages," he stated.

The bilateral encounter, according to the MEA, gave the India-UK Comprehensive Strategic Partnership "new impetus."

French President Macron and Prime Minister Modi talk about collaborating closely in the energy and space areas.

In addition, the prime minister shared photos of the meeting and his greeting to Macron.

The meeting was characterized as "advancing India-France Strategic Partnership" by the MEA in its post on X.

The post stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron during the G20 Brazil Summit.

"The presidents talked on methods to improve trade and investment, technology, artificial intelligence, and DPI between France and India. The MEA noted in the statement that they also discussed regional and global problems, including as the Indo-Pacific.
