Schools in Delhi and the NCR districts of Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddh Nagar under Stages 3 and 4 must close, according to a revision of the GRAP made on Wednesday by the CAQM in the NCR and surrounding areas.
The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) was updated by the Center's pollution watchdog on Wednesday, requiring the closure of schools in the districts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) under Stages 3 and 4.In the past, state governments had the last say over whether to enact these policies.
Schools in Delhi and the NCR districts of Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddh Nagar must close under Stages 3 and 4, according to a revision of the GRAP made on Wednesday by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) in the NCR and surrounding areas.
In Delhi and the previously listed NCR areas, state governments are now required by an extra instruction under Stage 3 of the GRAP to stagger the hours of public offices and municipal authorities.
The judgment states that the decision regarding office times for other NCR areas is still up to the individual state governments.
Prior to Stage 3, state governments had the authority to determine whether to switch to online learning and stop holding in-person classes for students up to Class 5.
Likewise, under Stage 4, they might have stopped offering in-person instruction to pupils in classes 6 through 9 and 11.
