After the divorce of AR Rahman and Saira Banu, Nita Ambani's comment on the Rahman family gets viral: "Saira is actually invisible." Watch the viral video.

On November 19, AR Rahman and his spouse, Saira Banu, declared their divorce. However, the composer's use of an odd hashtag on such a delicate tweet baffled the Internet.

On November 19, musician AR Rahman and his spouse, Saira Banu, jointly announced their divorce. But the composer's strange hashtag on their divorce post was what made everyone take notice. The hashtag #arrsairabreakup baffled the Internet, which questioned AR Rahman for using it on a delicate post on X. He asked for seclusion, but he ended up using a hashtag, which would draw greater attention, as many people pointed out.

AR Rahman wrote a heartfelt post on X expressing his sorrow, hours after Saira's attorney released a statement. "We had wanted to make it to the big thirty, but everything seems to have an end. The weight of wounded hearts may make even God's throne shake. Even though the parts might not find their home again, we look for meaning in this shattering. "We are grateful to our friends for their generosity and for protecting our privacy during this delicate time," the message said.

An 'unseen end' to their relationship was noted in the note. His followers' reactions to the hashtag, however, were not entirely consistent.

A person on X said, "2024 will go down history as the year AR Rahman created a hashtag to announce his separation (sic)," but a different user added, "Don't know who's handling Rahman's account, but the last thing to do when asking for privacy is to not create a page3-ish hashtag (sic)."

"After many years of marriage, Mrs. Saira has made the difficult decision to separate from her husband, Mr. AR Rahman," said a statement released by Saira's attorney. Significant emotional hardship in their relationship led to this decision. Notwithstanding their intense love for one another, the couple has discovered that their conflicts and challenges have caused an unbridgeable rift that neither of them feels capable of overcoming at this time. Mrs. Saira emphasized that she made this choice after much suffering. Mrs. Saira is navigating a difficult phase in her life and asks the public for understanding and privacy during this time.

Due to intractable disagreements, Rahman and Saira called it quits on their 29-year marriage. During these trying times, their three children—Khatija, Raheema, and Ameen—asked to be left alone.
