The homes of state PWD minister Govindas Konthoujam in Ningthoukhong, BJP MLA Y Radheshyam in Hiyanglam in Langmeidong Bazar, BJP MLA Paonam Brojen in Thoubal district, and Congress MLA Thokchom Lokeshwar in Khundrakpam in Imphal East district were set on fire by irate mobs.

On Saturday night, a mob also made an effort to enter Chief Minister N Biren Singh's private home, which led to a significant escalation between the demonstrators and security personnel.

According to officials, security forces, including the Assam Rifles, the BSF, and state forces, dispersed the demonstrators with many rounds of tear gas shells and rubber bullets and stopped the effort to destroy Singh's home.

After learning that Sapam Nishikanta Singh, the independent legislator for Keishamthong, was not in the state, protesters who had come to meet him at his home on Tiddim Road in Imphal West attacked the office building of a local newspaper that he owned, according to PTI.
